Hi I'm Misty

I'm a Black Licorice lover, a wife and a mother! We've lived in 4 different states in the past 6 months! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My husband and I met in a medical office where I was currently working as an Ophthalmic Assistant! The first thing he asked me when I got him into the exam room was, "Are you married?" We have one adorable baby boy! I am a homemaker which means I get to spend most of my time playing, teaching and watching my son grow! I find joy in making my home a place where my husband can escape the outside world and remember what really matters! I love surgery! I could spend hours in the operating room! (as long as I'm not the patient!) I love everything pilates! Most of all I love the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family of 9! My parents are the most amazing people I know! They have been teaching me the gospel ever since I was born. All of the teachings seemed natural and familiar to me. I can't imagine not being able to kneel down and pray to my heavenly father and ask him for answers or comfort! It is good to know that I am truly a daughter of God! In a world that can easily make a women forget her worth it is good to be reminded that we are of INFINITE worth in the sight of God! The gospel has been such a huge blessing in my life! My husband and I have moved far from home and away from everything I've ever known, but the church is there no matter where you go! It is truly a home away from home!

How I live my faith

At this point in my life I spend a huge chunk of time raising my son and sometimes my husband! When I was pregnant with my son I was confused about whether or not I should quit my job that I loved so much and stay at home with him. My husband was finishing school and had not had much luck finding any kind of work. We heard over and over that jobs were simply not available with the economy the way it was. I had prayed to heavenly father and asked him what I should do. I knew he wanted me to stay home with my baby. One day I came into work and sat at my desk. The receptionist could tell I had a lot on my mind. She then told me why she had decided to stay home with her children while they were young. Her husband grew up in a home with just him and his single mother. She had to work long hours to earn enough money to support the two of them. The boy was walking home from school on a cold winter day. He was taking his time as usual because he knew that when he got home the house would be cold, lonely and dark. His mother had to leave to work early. She would shut off all the lights and turn down the heat so they could save money during the day. The boy finally made it home. He opened up the door only to find the house bright and warm. He could smell the scent of freshly baked cookies coming from the kitchen. He made his way around the corner and found his mother with outstretched arms and a plate of cookies in her hand! She had the day off due to the weather! As a fifty year old man he still remembers that special day when his mother was there to greet him after a hard day at school! This story brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it! I want to be that woman when my husband and children walk in the door from a day of work!
