Hi I'm Debi

I'm an outdoor enthusiast, a summer camp director, and an elementary school teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors and love to spend time hiking and backpacking in nature. I direct a YMCA summer camp for kids and I teach 6th grade math and science. I love music and play guitar and sing in my spare time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and always had a belief in the church, but I didn't realize how important it was in my life until I was done with college and began interacting with a lot of different people. I have noticed that many people don't have a clear sense of purpose in life. I know who I am because of the gospel. I know that I am the daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, that he is watching over me, cheering me on when things are going well and carrying me through the rough times. The gospel blesses my life in so many ways and I know that the Lord does have a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a supportive, caring example to the children in my community through my work. I also work within the church to coordinate music for our worship services and lead the singing.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Debi
Mormon is the name of an ancient prophet who lived on the American continent, he compiled the Book of Mormon which is one of the books of scripture that we believe in. Because we believe in this book, we have been casually referred to as "Mormons". Show more Show less
