Hi I'm Marie Pearl

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small country town surrounded by the strength of a large family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While in college I met and fell in love with a Pacific Islander from Chicago. I now have the privilege of raising boys in the Northwest. I’m licensed with the CDR in nutrition but lucky to be able to spend most of my time raising my sons as my husband is a Resident Engineer developing roads, bridge, tunnel, and other things. I enjoy reading, the outdoors, volunteering in my children’s school, as well as teaching others how to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. I love laughter and if you’re a close friend of mine you most likely have been subjected to a small amount of my teasing and pranks. I’m a big believer of developing and finding joy through inner peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon but that is not why I choose to be a Mormon. I made that choice as a teenager when I realized what kind of happiness could be had by living in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have come to know for myself that this gospel is true. Our savior is the head of this church and when I am a part of it I am left without wanting whether it be during good times or bad.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a lifestyle. When I make choices each day that are in harmony with my faith my day somehow always turns out better. An example of this would be, when I choose to take the time each morning for personal prayer (talking with God like he is a dear friend, thanking him for the blessings I’ve been given, then sharing with him my worries and needs) It always seems to draw me to a personal peace that’s needed to start the day right when your raising boys. Then, if I take the time to study or Savior words through the scriptures, I’m given clarity by the Holy Spirit (a gift given to me at baptism) on how to solve some of those worries I was just praying about. I also may receive ideas on what I can do that will help my day run smoothly amidst the many things I need to get done or who may need my help that day. Understanding comes on how I can live better when I take the time and try to live my faith.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Marie Pearl
My husband and I grew up completely different. Our cultures are different as well as how we were raised. It would be easy to focus on the negative differences we have in our relationship. Luckily with our faith in Jesus Christ we have come to realize we are not so different. Where it matters most we are the same. We are children of God and his influence helps us see eachother with patience and kindness as we have kept the good from both cultures and have gotten rid of the bad. We have learned to respect one another in our marriage and that has naturally transferred to better relationships with our children and friends. We have more love and tolerance for others with our faith in Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
