Hi I'm J. Young

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there! My name is J. Young. I am currently attending college in Utah. I'm majoring in Exercise Science with the hope of going into Orthopedics. I grew up in a small farming town where everyone knew everyone. I enjoyed being involved in many activities. I loved playing baseball with my childhood friends. I am an Eagle Scout thanks to the hard work of a Scout Master. I served as a missionary in the Washington, Kennewick Mission from 2006-08. It was the greatest experience of my life. I would not trade it for the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that when I live the gospel principles contained in the words of the prophets, both past and living, I am most happy. I first became truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ when I was 17 years old. I took the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon and the earnestly pray to know if it was true. I remember reading of Alma as he blessed his sons before they left to teach the Lamanites. He recounted his conversion. I could relate to his feeling of being a tortured soul. Sins had tormented his life, but through his conversion and faith in Jesus Christ, forgiveness was obtained for him and he received peace in his life. I too wanted that peace. As I read, the Holy Ghost witnessed to me that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. Since this moment, I have found that as I live the principles contained with in the Book of Mormon and Bible I am truly happy. Everything seems to go better when I'm doing the things I should.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my weekly meetings and supporting our leaders. I pray earnestly that Heavenly Father's purpose for me will be revealed to me and that I can follow it. One of the big helps that I have found in my life is reading the scriptures every day. I have found that the more time I give to Christ and Heavenly Father the better things seem to run.
