Hi I'm Jon-Michael

About Me

I'm a university student studying physics. I have a love for learning and find great joy in making spiritual connections to intellectual pursuits and vice versa. I grew up as a member of the Church in Kentucky, moved to California for college education, and served a mission in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission from 2005-2007.

Why I am a Mormon

As a seeker of truth, I've found the source of truth--namely, God--through the gospel of Jesus Christ in the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The more I study and learn about the gospel as taught by God's servants in the Church, the more I've come to an understanding of God's immense love for His children and His awesome glory that is manifest in so many ways. In the Church, I have found answers to questions that have not been explained to me satisfactorily in any other context. I have found knowledge that doesn't sit dormant in the shelves of my mind, but that requires action and offers ever increasing happiness.

How I live my faith

I attend a singles ward where I've served as a clerk (assisting in administrative tasks) and a hometacher (sharing gospel messages with friends in the local ward and providing assistance to these friends whenever it's needed).

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Jon-Michael
Families are of central importance to members of the Church. We believe that we are all children of God and that our families can be perpetuated throughout the eternities. In the temple, we perform ordinances, or sacred rites, for living and deceased family members to allow us to continue our family relationships beyond this life. Show more Show less
