Hi I'm Cici

I'm a recent college grad. I do social media for a high-tech company. I strive to do good in the world and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate working for Adobe. While in school I studied public relations and art history. As an intern for Adobe, I started bringing in homemade treats on Friday as a way to get to know people. Now it's become a fun part of our work culture and lets me hone my baking skills. I currently serve with a group called Kaiizen and go on service trips to Baja California and perform community outreach.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until about when I was eleven and my parents divorced. After that, my mom moved my siblings and me to a different state and we went inactive for a few years. When I was in seventh grade I made some great friends who invited me to go back to church with them. Through their examples and love for me, I started to attend the meetings, where I was comforted by the Holy Spirit. I'm a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Jesus Christ founded anciently when he walked this Earth. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is inspired of God and that it, in addition to the Bible, is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, just like the prophets that the Bible tells of. I know that when I pray, God hears me and cares about what I have to say. I know that my family can be together forever, even after this life. I know these things, because I prayed to God and asked. While I knelt in humble prayer, I felt a peace unlike any I had ever experienced. A wave of calm and warmth washed over me and I felt the love of God for myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ in everything that I do. I seek to live my life with charity and strive to find opportunities where I can serve others. In my congregation, I, with a small committee of my peers, help arrange service for the female members of the ward. I also visit two other women each month to see how they're doing, give spiritual support, and offer service.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon Temples are the Lord's houses on Earth. Everyone is invited to come to the temple, though to enter you must be a baptized member of the Mormon church and have approval from your bishop (congregational leader). Inside the temple members participate in sacred ordinances that unite families forever and help them return to God. Different from many other faiths, Mormon's believe that by being married, or sealed, in the temple, our families can receive additional strength and be united forever, even beyond death.
