Hi I'm Adam Poole

About Me

I am a husband of 13 years and a father of five children. I have 6 siblings (two are half siblings from a subsequent marriage). My parents divorced several times. I work as a lawyer in the area of civil litigation. I went to The University of Creighton Law School. I obtained my bachelors degree from BYU, which is where I met my beautiful wife. My wife is the greatest blessing in my life. We focus our lives on each other and our wonderful children.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I believe God, our Heavenly Father, lives. Because His Son, Jesus Christ, lives. Because the Holy Ghost, the third member of the Godhead, lives. Because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Because Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God who was an instrument in God's hands to restore the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ along with the restoration of the priesthood. Because the Book of Mormon is true (it is another testament of Jesus Christ; it is not our bible; the bible is also the word of God). Because I have felt a witness of these things from the Holy Ghost many times. I have not felt anything extraordinary, except for the sweet Spirit of God whispering to me that these things are true! I have not seen angels, except living angels on earth speaking, teaching and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and setting a great example and showing the greatness of the teachings of Jesus Christ well lived. Because His prophets speak His word to me today. Because revelation is the method God speaks to me and His prophets. To me for my personal guidance. To the prophets for the guidance and direction of the whole world.

How I live my faith

I pray when I get out of bed in the morning. I pray for every meal I eat. I pray for guidance in all I do. I try to read my scriptures everyday. I listen to the prophets' talks from general conference when I go running, which I do about everyday. I learn as much as I can about the truth and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I try my best to love and serve my family by providing and protecting them and teaching them the good things I know. I try my best to serve my community by trying to be a good neighbor and doing what I can for them, whether that be smiling and waving as we pass each other or stopping and talking to them when I am outside. I try to be a good example by living the way that I know I should live by being honest at home and at work. I serve as the second counselor in the bishopric in my ward. While I am far from being a perfect home teacher, I love home teaching the families I am assigned to serve. I try to do whatever I can for family, friends and others when they are in need, whether that is by being a friend and providing whatever support I can, or buying food at In-N-Out for a stranger that is hungry. I love sharing the Gospel with others. I am not the best at sharing the Gospel, but whenever I get the opportunity, I love feeling the Holy Ghost testify of the truth of the reality of the Savior and His teachings and the restoration of the fulness of his Gospel here on this earth through the instrument of Joseph Smith and subsequent prophets.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Adam Poole
Yes. You will find the account of this visit in 3 Nephi chapter 11. I have heard it said that this visit was the crowning event of the Book of Mormon. I love reading that chapter and the succeeding verses. It is very inspiring. Show more Show less
