Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student studying mathematics. I enjoy reading, discussing new ideas, and enjoying the outdoors hiking or cycling.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church to parents lived the teachings of the Prophets.

How I live my faith

It is easy to get distracted by the material world. My faith is a personal one. Every Sunday I remember the Savior's sacrifice for me at our worship services. Then, throughout the week I strive to keep Jesus' example in mind as I deal with my coworkers and friends.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

One cannot understand the need for temples until one understands the importance of covenants. A covenant is a promise made with the Lord. We commit to strive to live his laws and in turn he promises us blessings. The path to eternal life is the path of covenants. Even in ancient times the Lord made covenants with his people. The story of the Old Testament is the story of a people that had made a covenant with the Lord, and prospered when they remembered him and their promises. Jesus brought the higher law and new covenants in his ministry. In the Lord's temple we make personal covenants with him and are promised special blessings. In my personal spiritual development, these covenants have been a reminder of the spiritual part of my existence and the central role the Savior plays in our mortal journey and eventual return to the presence of God.
