Hi I'm Jonathan

I try to make the world a better place.

About Me

I am a college student who loves to use computers. I enjoy creating content in the forms of video, still images and the written word. I love studying religions, including my own, thru modern and ancient sacred texts. I also enjoy gardening, cycling, camping, hiking and being outdoors. Whatever I do, I enjoy being with my wife. I enjoy staying abreast of current events throughout the world especially involving politics, religion and technology. I enjoy discussing and sharing things that I learn through whatever avenues are available to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family of Mormons. That would explain how I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have had my questions and doubts. However, through study, prayer and divine revelation, I have come to know that this church is the restored church of Jesus Christ. All essential elements of His church including priesthood authority, the gifts of the spirit, revelation, healing, and the fullness of the power of His atonement can be found here. I know that Joseph Smith was called by God to be His prophet and through Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon was translated and the Church of Jesus Christ re-established on the earth. I know the Book of Mormon is a work of genuine divine scripture containing, as does the Bible, the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My wife and I teach four year olds in Sunday school helping them to learn about Jesus and how He loves them. We also attend other weekly religious services and attend our local temple regularly. Together, my wife and I study the standard works(a collective term for scriptures including the Book of Mormon, Bible, Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price)daily together and personally. Understanding and applying the principles contained therein help us to be happy and productive and prepare us to return to live with our Heavenly Father.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Mormon Temples are used to impart divine instruction for those willing to live according to a certain standard. This includes making covenants, or promises, with God regarding our obedience and behavior through ordinances. Keeping the covenants made in the temple allow us to return to live with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A "testimony" is a personal divine witness of truths from God. It is built upon many of these witnesses regarding many principles and doctrines and their truthfulness. We can have a testimony regarding the truthfulness of the Bible or Book of Mormon, of the validity of the calling of the prophet Joseph Smith, and of principles like fasting and prayer.
