Hi I'm R. Platt

I'm a single mom. I'm an entrepreneur. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Texas and I'm the second of 5 kids. I'm also a single mom of two beautiful children. I love to play the piano, sing, and write music when I have the time. I also love messing around with computers, doing a little web and graphic design here and there. Currently I'm working as a real estate investor, and I love being an entrepreneur.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I've learned through my own experience and prayers that the church is true. No other institution has given me so much peace, brought me so many answers, or given me so much motivation to do better every day.

How I live my faith

I'm a relief society chorister in my ward, and I love my calling. Music has always been a passion of mine and I love teaching our 5 minute music appreciation twice a month. I'm also a visiting teacher, and I participate frequently in the Single Adult program. We have a lot of fun as singles getting together for activities and dances!

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

R. Platt
The members of our church are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are Christian, and we believe in and testify of Christ. Some people call us "Mormon" because we believe in a book called "The Book of Mormon" which is record of Jesus Christ's visit to America. It is a compilation of records that were kept by prophets on the American continent. Moroni, the last prophet that recorded his words in the book of Mormon and helped to compile all the records of the prophets, named the book after his father, Mormon. Show more Show less
