Hi I'm Larry

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV. I'm a high school science teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 12 years and I am a father of three wonderful children. I am a native of Nevada and I pursued multiple career paths before finally deciding on teaching high school science, which I have done for the past 8 years. I love to read and my literary interests tend to be in the genres of science fiction and fantasy, but I also read the scriptures and other books that teach me how to be a better father, husband, and disciple of Jesus Christ. I also dabble in woodworking and other home improvement hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that God loves me today just as much as He loved the children of Israel so many years ago. Because of this, I believe that God speaks to us today through revelation and modern day prophets that lead and guide us in the paths He would have us walk. I also believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and He suffered for my sins so that I could live with Him and my Heavenly Father again once this life of testing is over. I also believe that the family I am given on this earth can continue to be with me forever in the hereafter. These beliefs are the reason I am a Mormon. I know of no other organization on earth that more completely follows the doctrines of Jesus Christ than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. No other organization is so closely patterned after the church that Jesus Christ established on the earth than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe that life has purpose. I believe that I will be held accountable for my actions in this life. That is why I am so grateful to be a member of the church so that I can know what my Heavenly Father expects of me and how my family and I can return to Him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a leadership capacity in the church. I organize and direct the activities of the men who are members of the church, ages 18 to roughly 60, that live in my area. This amounts to approximately 45 men and their families. As part of my duties I organize service in the community, plan Sunday instruction to teach these men the doctrines of Jesus Christ, and find ways to help them be better husbands, fathers, and disciples of Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

As members of the church we worship God, our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, our resurrected Lord and Savior. There is no other man that we worship. We live by the commandment given by God that we worship Him only. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, but he was a man and we do not worship him. Instead we honor and hold sacred the life he lived. He reestablished the church of Jesus Christ upon the earth and devoted his entire life to this pursuit. Ultimately, he gave his life and sealed his mission upon the earth with his own blood. All of us who are members today believe in his sacred calling as prophet and are grateful for his sacrifice. Show more Show less
