Hi I'm Catie

I'm a happy girl, married to my best friend, I'm currently living in Texas and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, but last year I returned home from the Arizona Phoenix Mission, where I spent 18 months of my life. I learned to love the heat and got some pretty awesome tan lines while serving there :) I love that I can say that I knocked door to door in 117 degrees for multiple hours a day in Phoenix. I loved my mission and truly found myself while I was there. I learned the importance of exact obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I saw lives change as people came to a knowledge of who Jesus Christ is and the plan that God has for all His children. I truly was changed as I saw the changes taking place all around me. I came to understand that God wants us to be happy because He loves us. Happiness is found when we are doing what is right and helping others to do what is right. It's found when we are studying the scriptures and applying them to our lives. It's found when we turn our will over to God and do all we can to follow Him and do what He would do. I love the gospel and know that the truths of Jesus Christ's church are here and have been restored to the Earth, and oh how happy that makes me! My favorite things to do include singing, playing piano, baking, and spending time with family and friends. The gospel gives me true happiness and peace, I can't imagine my life without it. I recently was married in the Draper temple to my best friend, John. Life is wonderful and I greatly attribute that to having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but just like everyone I had to find out for myself if the gospel of Jesus Christ really had been restored and if the Book or Mormon really was the word of God. I have seen the power of the gospel change lives. I've seen my life change and become much happier as I've obeyed the commandments, as I've read my scriptures, and as I've prayed. I've felt peace in trials, joy in sad times, love in the lowest of times. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored, that we are not alone, that God loves us so much and is continually reaching out to us, that there is a plan of happiness for each and every one of us, and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, serving those around me to the best of my ability, reading the scriptures, praying, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around me. I'm not a full time missionary anymore, but I will always be a missionary at heart. I'm also currently serving as a Primary teacher, teaching little 4-year-olds about Jesus Christ.
