Hi I'm Christopher

I'm a Scientist. I'm a Husband. I'm a Dad. I'm Happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I live in Utah and I'm working as a postdoctoral fellow, studying gene regulation in heart disease. As a researcher, I get to investigate and learn how life and cells work. It amazes me the depth and complexity of even God's smallest creations. I'm married to a wonderful woman and have three kids. I love to play with my kids and spend time with my wife. I work hard. In my free time, I like to watch movies, read, play sports, and especially be with my family. I'm trying to be the best Dad I can, and I know church helps me do that.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up as a Mormon, it was always important to me to know that it was true for myself. When I was fifteen, after continuous study and deep meditation about the truth of the Book of Mormon, I knelt down and asked God if it was true. A feeling of great peace and love came over me and a clarity came to my mind, telling me that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. The feeling told me also that the Book of Mormon is true, and it teaches of Jesus Christ. I knew this feeling was the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God. Many times in my life, I have felt this same way as I have served in the Church, as I have continued to learn about Jesus Christ, and as I have sought to come closer to Him. Each time, the strength of my knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior increases, and I know that this Church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do. I try to study the scriptures everyday, for at least a little bit. My family attends church each Sunday. I teach a Sunday School class where we discuss the teachings and messages from the scriptures and how we can apply those to our lives today. I visit two families each month to share a personal, spiritual message as well as build my friendship with them and attend to any needs they have as best I can. I pray often, asking God for help in my life at home as I try to be the best husband and father I can. I pray for help at work, that I can be a good employee and that I can be successful and support my family. I serve other people. I do my best to always remember Jesus Christ and follow his teachings in every aspect of my life. I believe that everything I do should reflect my belief in Him.
