Hi I'm Jessie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of a beautiful one year old and am married to my best friend. I love spending my days with them and watching my little family grow. I graduated from college in 2009 and taught 1st grade for a year. Now, I am staying home with my daughter and I teach spinning at our local rec center. I love to be outside and exercising with my husband and others. A simple and cheap! craft will make a dull day turn suddenly exciting. My new favorite quote: Keep calm and read a book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Growing up, my parents taught me what was right and wrong and I believed them. As I began to understand the reason I was taught the things I was, I realized that I believed them because it felt right and good. When I was old enough to start making decisions on my own, my parents and other church leaders helped me understand why we make certain decisions or why we don't do certain things. I developed my own testimony of the truths I was taught as a child. As I continued to make decisions based on what I understood to be true, my testimony continued to grow. I learned that when I read from the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I started to know my Savior and understand what He would have me do in difficult circumstances. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because I have learned that for myself. I have felt the power of the Book of Mormon as I have read it and prayed to know whether or not it is true. I know that the church has been restored under the same organization that existed while Jesus Christ was on the earth and as represented in the Bible. I know that a true and living prophet, President Thomas Monson, leads our church today. If we head his direction, we will not fail. Our Heavenly Father knows each of us. I know that He knows me and that He hears my prayers. I live the gospel because I know it is true and I know that if I live the way that the gospel teaches, I will be happy.

How I live my faith

I try to live the gospel everyday through service and love. The gospel encompasses everything that I do. Currently on Sundays, I work with children ages 4-12. We meet for two hours and we teach them and sing songs. Throughout the week I try to serve others and do things that will help me prepare for sundays. My family and I try to participate in family prayer and scripture study each day to help us remember the promises that we've made and to help us do our best each day. I know that I make mistakes and I take the opportunity to truly repent. I live my faith by trying to remember to smile and to be grateful for the blessings in my life each day.
