Hi I'm Todd G.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I own a small floral, gift and garden business.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church, but I went through a lengthy period of inactivity. When I was 19, I served as a full-time missionary for the church, but when I returned, I had a time when I felt that maybe I didn't need the direction that the church provided. I continued to believe the doctrines of the church, but i didn't participate in meetings. As I grew older, I realized that if I truly believed in the church, then that belief included full participation. Coming back into full activity within the church has been one of the greatest decisions of my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a counselor in the leadership of my local congregation. Mormon congregations are called wards, and each has a bishop that is in charge of that congregation. Each bishop has two counselors that serve as the leadership within the ward. I serve in that capacity.

What is the First Vision?

Todd G.
When Joseph Smith was searching for truth as a young boy of 14, he read in the bible a verse in James, which gave a simple instruction--- "... if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." Joseph took those words literally, and in the spring of 1820, he walked into a small grove of trees in upstate New York. There, he knelt and poured out his heart in prayer, asking for guidance in knowing which church taugh correct doctrine. At that time, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith. We refer to this appearance as the first vision. Show more Show less
