Hi I'm Tyler

I teach vocal music in a rural Colorado town. I teach kids from 4th grade to 12th grade. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband for 5 years and am a father of 2 wonderful little girls. I love spending time with them, playing, coloring, and reading stories for bedtime. My family means so much to me. I am also a choir teacher. I teacher vocal music for grades 4-12, which is tons of fun, but also has it's own challenges. I teach over 100 students, each with their own personalities and attitudes. I like spending time at home, gardening, making music, playing frisbee, watching movies with my family, and playing video games online with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the church for many generations. Although I was raised in this church, I had decided as a teenager that the gospel of Jesus Christ is important for me and will bless my life. Throughout my life, I have really felt the love of a Heavenly Parent. I know that God loves me so much he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be a savior for me. I decided so serve as a missionary for two years in the Los Angeles California area, where I was able to help other people realize the happiness that living the gospel brings and be able to help them feel of the love of God. I continue going to church because I am happier because of the ways the church encourages me to live. It makes my family happy and we feel love when we are together. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that our family is eternal; that we can be a family forever, even after we die. That shows me that God loves me enough to allow me to continue with the most wonderful part of my life even after death, my family.

How I live my faith

I believe that having faith in religion is more than just going to church every week, but should involve serving others as Jesus served others. I enjoy participating in the local community choir and even singing during the church meetings of other churches around. I have a neat job at church that allows me to teach during the Sunday School section of church meetings, teaching many of the men and young fathers. This gives me a chance to study a little more than I might otherwise. I also work as the secretary to the Bishop, the leader of our local congregation. I schedule appointments and interviews for him and try to keep up his schedule to make things easier for him. This means I have a lot more time at church for these meetings, but it allows me extra time at church serving others. I feel that this is a blessing to me and my family. I enjoy serving at church. It helps me to feel that I can help other people feel God's love for them through my action, time, and sacrifices.
