Hi I'm Tim

I'm a med student at UC San Diego, married to my best friend, and a new dad!

About Me

Hello! My name is Tim. I've spent the last few years of my life in medical school in California, and just started my residency training as an emergency medicine physician. I consider it a privilege to be able to help the sick. I'm married to the woman of my dreams, and we have a 1-year-old son who is the coolest thing in our lives. As a family, we love to travel, hike, and cook. I like to spend my free time outdoors, with a book, with family, or friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad joined the church when he was a teenager, and my mom was always a member. They have been devoted members since I was born. As a teenager, I found myself wanting to know for myself whether what I had been taught as a child was right and true. I read The Book of Mormon, attended church meetings, and prayed to ask God whether what I was learning was true. My personal conversion to the church has been gradual, consisting of many small, simple, subtle experiences, that when taken together, are more than enough for me to know without a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. Like everyone, I have made mistakes in my life, and through repenting, I have come to know the Savior Jesus Christ on a more personal level. I also believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that we are led by a prophet today.

How I live my faith

I think the most important way I live my faith is by the way I live my life day-to-day. I try hard to be hard-working, honest, and to have a positive influence on everyone that I interact with. By reminding myself that everyone I meet is a son or daughter of God, I find it easier to be compassionate, to listen, and to help when I can. In the church, I work with people in my congregation who are looking for work, or want to change jobs. I help them with resumes, interviewing, networking, and really anything else I can do to help them find work. I get a lot of personal satisfaction and self-worth from my own job, and try to help others enjoy the same.
