Hi I'm Mary Jane

About Me

I am the mother of seven wonderful children. I am a quilter, a genealogist and I love gardening. I love creating blogs and helping others find information about their famililes. I also love to read all kinds of books but love a good mystery.

Why I am a Mormon

All that I value and hold dear are a direct result of my decision to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In a time of unsettling events in the world the gospel of Jesus Christ allows me to feel safe. I know that the Lord will help to guide and protect me though my trials. Each day as I study the scriptures I feel His help and guidance in my life. It has helped me to draw closer to my extended family and gain the confidence to do whatever is needed in this life to survive. I joined the Church when I was 21 years old. I had the great blessing of hearing about the gospel from a co-worker. She took the time to teach me the gospel and helped me learn to apply it to my life. The very aspect of free agency taught so beautifully in our church has helped me to understand the importance of teaching my children correct prinicples so that they can govern themselves and have a happy and successful life.

How I live my faith

I love teaching Gospel Doctrine, which is a Sunday School class for adults, it keeps me on my toes as far as studying the scriptures indepth. I also get the opportunity to help others build their family trees working as a ward family history consultant. We meet with individuals and help them to collect information on their family and organize it so they build their family trees. I also am currently supporting a son on a mission.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Mary Jane
I believe we are greatly blessed because we don't have a paid clergy. Each member of the church is given the opportunity to serve in various capacities within the church allowing them to develop gifts and talents they might have not been able to otherwise. By serving we grow closer not only to our Father in Heaven but also to each other, when you serve others you learn to love them. Show more Show less
