Hi I'm Emory

I grew up in Florida. I cherish a good road trip. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After graduating from college I started a small marketing firm, and currently run it with my buddy. When I'm not working, I'm road-tripping around North America (or daydreaming about it). I love Southern fried food, 80s power ballads and watching poorly-made movies with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both converted to the Mormon faith in their 20s, and I was born into the Church after they were married. I always believed what they taught me about Jesus Christ and the Church, but I eventually had to discover the truth on my own. I had to really ponder and pray about what the Mormon Church stood for: Is Jesus Christ actually my Savior? Was Joseph Smith called to be a prophet of God? Is the Book of Mormon true? After wrestling with God for the answers to some of these questions, I can say today with everything in me that these things are true. And the happiness and peace that knowledge brings is beyond price.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day, sometimes by complimenting a coworker, sometimes by apologizing when I know I've messed up, and other times by expressing gratitude to the ones I love. My faith brings me hope, tenacity and enthusiasm in a world of cynicism, dejection and moral ambiguity.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No one in the Mormon Church is required to serve as a missionary. Young men are encouraged to serve when they turn 19, but they don't have to. Young women and senior couples can also serve missions if they choose. Show more Show less
