Hi I'm David

I live in Utah and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I am a Dad and it is one of the greatest joys that I have in life. I have worked hard all my life to provide for my family, even while attending college. I enjoy reading good books and read fiction as well as non-fiction books. I book I am reading right now is called The Belonging Heart. It is a good book so far, and really talks well about why we have a need to belong.

Why I am a Mormon

My great grandfather converted to the Church while he was growing up in Germany. They came to America and my grandfather was born in Utah. My mom and dad have been members their entire lives, as have I. But I want to clarify that just being a member, did not mean that I had been converted. Sure, I went to church every week and I was a pretty decent kid. But I never took the time to find out on my own if the Church teachings were true. As I became a senior in high school, I needed to make a decision. Do I spend two years as a Mormon missionary teaching the gospel or do I go to college? I had been prepped my whole life to serve a mission, but I never knew for myself. Through diligent prayers and the study of the scriptures, I received confirmation that serving a mission would not only bless my life but the lives of many other people. It was an incredibly awesome experience. I served in the Okayama-Japan mission. I learned to love the Japanese people through service and hard work. Since then, the gospel has blessed my life in so many ways. I know the gospel is true. I know that Jesus Christ, suffered immense agony and pain, not only for my weaknesses and sins, but for everyone. I truly try my best each and every day to follow his example.

How I live my faith

One day at a time! Some days are much harder than other days. It isn't that I have doubts per se, but that sometimes the cares of the world, the responsibilities to work and family can seem to be overwhelming. I feel so inadequate sometimes in what I am doing, that I wonder if it is all worth it. In these moments, I say a prayer to my Father in heaven and ask him for His help and courage to continue to go on. I don't know how people are able to live in these difficult times, without some kind of anchor, some kind of hope. It would be too difficult without some direction or purpose.
