Hi I'm Rachel

I'm love fabric, art, good food and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Maryland, grew up in Washington then Maryland again. I spent 18 months serving the California, San Diego area and the Mormon Battalion Historic Site. I think I was born to draw, design and create. I love fabric design, sewing, manga, children's books and finding friends in art.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with the restored gospel so it always made sense that God would love all His children and that He would teach them all the same gospel, so the Bible and Book of Mormon were easy to accept. Sure I have been challenged for what I believe but that didn't changed what I knew to be true. In high school, I took a world religion class and it was one of the greatest things for me. We learned by doctrines pre-earth life, marriage, death, after-life, reason for life about tons of different faiths. Then the final project was to write what we thought happens. It made me laugh because not only did I write my own words but I was able to use the words of living prophets to back up what I said. I'm Mormon because God speaks to a living prophet and he is given the words God needs us to know to get back to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a friendly person, willing to help, just the example of Jesus Christ gave us.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I use the example of Jesus Christ to see that I should help all those around me. Christ didn't ask those around Him before he helped them if they were the same race, culture, religion or sex, Christ just helped. I love knowing that part of my tithing money that I give freely can help those who are far away, even in countries where Christianity is small. Serve where you can and in every small act brings more hope in the world. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal Life is more then just Heaven, it is used to describe that we are more then just this life on Earth. We lived before with our Heavenly Father and we can live with Him after this life which makes us eternal. Eternal life brings me joy to know that I more then what I am now, I have grown and will continue to grow. I will be with my family forever and that brings me peace that my ancestors I never met I can someday and I hope to learn more about myself. Eternal life is a gift given from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
