Hi I'm Marlene

Flight attendant from New Zealand. Im a Mormon

About Me

Mid 20s, single, female, professional. Lucky to call the idylic landscapes of New Zealand home. My mothers only child, and my Fathers youngest. I have been educated in Catholic schools which gave me a basic understanding of good values. Always labeled the "funny one" with some performing arts ability. Maths, sports, and cooking ... not so much. I struggled through my teenage years after the loss of my father. It was in my late teens I was fortunate enough to meet my friends who shared the gospel with me.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was fortunate to grow up within good sorroundings. Life was never quite complete. What was I missing? Years of partying, getting in debt, wardrobe maintanence, hangovers, break ups, all had the same aftertaste of tears. I remember the "mormons" would visit, often I would answer the door. After a few light and pleasant conversations I realised they werent there to tell me my faith was wrong, or my beliefs were false. I agreed to a meeting with them to inform me of the Latter day saint faith. Weeks had passed and I could feel change. My conversion felt like a dream state. This is how I found the Book of Mormon to be a True word of God. That it supports the Old Testament, & The New Testament in testifying of the savior Jesus Christ. My baptism was on April 6th 2007. Ill never forget the feeling, in that room of loved ones. I was a daughter, friend, niece, aunt, sister, & work colleague. Most of all, they witnessed my Joy. Know that you are Loved. You are cherished. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true Church on the earth today. I know we have a living prophet Thomas S Monson to lead and guide us in these latter days. I know when you seek to know the Truth you will find it. My blessings I share with you in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ Amen

How I live my faith

My current occupation doing shift work, at times prevents me from attending Sunday services. No matter what day of the week it may be, there are always opportunities to serve others. Whether it be assisting a passenger, or attending church activities during days off. At this time in my life, I live my faith by the things I say and do.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Marlene
Quite simply No. The Lord doesnt help just Christians. His plan is to love all mankind. We strongly beleive in the new commandment, Love one another. To help our neighbours, serving in our communities, and assisting those less fortunate than ourselves. We do this using our time, effort and talents. Show more Show less
