Hi I'm Stefanie Anne

About Me

I feel funny talking about myself but I will give it a shot. I am a friendly person who grew up on the west coast of Canada. I love the beauty of nature. I grew up in Canada but I have been living in the US for quite some time now. My husband is in the military and I am the proud mother of two. Like I said above, I am friendly and love to get outside and have fun whether it be sports, hiking, biking, swimming or camping; I am up for it.

Why I am a Mormon

For as long as I can remember, I believed in God and that he was good, kind and wanted what was best for all mankind. My family was not a church going family although my mom took me to a few different denominations as I grew up. I felt that each one was doing their best but something was missing. Something was just not right. This frustrated me because I really wanted to do what was right. So I told God that I would join whatever church he told me to join. I had to know that I was where I was supposed to be. A couple of churches later I was taking lessons from the LDS missionaries, after my best friend asked me to, and I did as they asked me to and prayed to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I asked if this was where my Father in Heaven wanted me to be. My prayer was answer I felt through and through that I had found the true Church of Jesus Christ. That was 1994 and I was only 19 years old. That 'not quite right' or 'something missing' feeling has never returned. As the years go by I only become more sure that this is where my Father in Heaven wants me to be. I would ask you to do as I did and ask God, your Father in Heaven where you are supposed to be.

How I live my faith

Wow, where do I start! My faith encompasses every aspect of my life. Every choice is rooted in my desire to live my faith and do good in this world. There are so many things but here are some of the more interesting ones. I have been a camp director for our wards Young Women's program which was my favorite of course. I have helped with genealogy, I have taught children of various ages and now I am embarking on teaching seminary. Living my faith can be a challenge as there is always something to be done but it is that challenge and being busy doing good that has made me stronger, smarter, more compassionate and enriches my life continually. Those are the interesting things but it is the simple mundane everyday things that really show how I live my faith. It is choosing to have a positive attitude, it pausing to help someone with something, it is reading my children a story, it is making cookies for soldiers, it is kneeling and praying sincerely for those I love and the complete stranger I noticed in trouble. I love living my faith.
