Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am about to retire from working as a contractor with the Air Force. My wife and I have two children and eight grandchildren. We enjoy doing Family History Research as a hobby. We also enjoy helping others with their computers, especially older folks who need extra help.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a deep conviction about the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I became aware that God had spoken again to mankind in the latter days, I was moved to study further. The witness of the Holy Ghost to me as I studied convinced me that God moves in each of our lives to bring us to Christ. The richness and harmony of The Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ, as a companion to the Holy Bible, has opened new vistas of understanding of spiritual things, and has assured me of the value of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I very much enjoy teaching the young people in my congregation. The LDS Church supports the Boy Scout movement extensively, and I have enjoyed scouting for over thirty years. My wife and I have served two missions, endeavoring to share the gospel with others. Those missions have been to the Minnesota area, and to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Another of my interests is answering questions about my beliefs. Please contact me if you have any questions about the church, its history or teachings. My email is: ormsby@byu.net

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Don
Yes. The Bible is a wonderful guide for our lives, and is important to read and study daily. Mormons are blessed not only with the Bible, but additional ancient and modern scripture to guide our lives. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Don
No, we believe that our faith in Jesus Christ moves us to help all of mankind. We donate regularly to organizations that help others, and we try to be good neighbors and citizens in our city, state and country. Show more Show less
