Hi I'm Brian

I'm a law enforcement officer, photography enthusiast, runner, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 20-year veteran of law enforcement and am a senior detective for a municipal agency in Florida. I am currently assigned to the intelligence and analysis unit and also serve as our department's background investigator. I enjoy hiking, camping, and fishing when I can find the time. I also enjoy outdoors photography and trying to capture the beauty of Heavenly Father's creations. My wonderful wife and I will celebrate 24 years of marriage this year. We have four great kids and welcomed our first grandchild, a little girl, in December.

Why I am a Mormon

It's true. I cannot deny the witness that has been born to me by the Holy Ghost that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in its fulness through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that he saw our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ and was called of God to bring forth the Book of Mormon and restore the doctrines of Christ that had been lost to mankind so long ago. The Book of Mormon is true and bears witness that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of mankind. I have this testimony because I have read, pondered and prayed to know the truth of the restoration and have received a witness time and time again. Any who ask our Heavenly Father with a sincere heart and real intent, having faith in Christ, can also come to know the truth of all things by the power of the Holy Ghost. It is true and I cannot and will not deny it for I know that I will someday stand before my Savior and account to him for this testimony I have been given. It is true.

How I live my faith

A career in law enforcement can be very challenging in many ways. Police officers rarely encounter anyone when they are at their best or having a good day, and often feel the weight of society's burdens on their shoulders. Keeping a positive attitude and maintaining any level of spirituality can be a real challenge when dealing with the worst elements of our society day after day. Add to that rotating shifts, working midnights, overtime and call-outs when you thought you had the day off, and it can be really taxing on a spouse and family. I do not believe for one second that I could have survived in my career without the peace and comfort that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite the challenges of a law enforcement career, I have found that the power of prayer, the Holy Scriptures, and the words of modern prophets, seers, and revelators have given me great strength and comfort. I have found also that when I exercise faith and am obedient, the Lord always makes up the difference. Knowing that I am a son of God and that He has a purpose for me has allowed me to keep my faith even against incredible odds.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

As I look around this beautiful world and gaze into the heavens above, it is obvious to me that such order, all things in their perfect place, each with a specific purpose, could not have happened by chance. All things truly testify that God is real. We can come to know him personally as we read and ponder the words of the scriptures and reach out to him in personal prayer. In Psalms 46:10 it says; "Be still, and know that I am God:" On a clear night, away from the hustle and bustle of city or urban life and its ambient light, look up into the heavens at the brilliance of the stars above. Open your heart and your mind as you ponder the cosmos and all things that are in them. In the quiet of the night and as you "be still," the spirit will whisper to your mind and your heart that God is real and that He lives. You will come to understand that He is truly your loving Heavenly Father and that He knows you and that it is His greatest desire to have you in His presence once again. Show more Show less
