Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Utah. I am an electrical engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since the time I was a small boy I wanted to be an engineer. In truth I wanted to be just like my father, he was a civil engineer. I studied hard in high school and then worked hard to make my way in college. I even took early morning jobs cleaning toliets and mopping floors so my schedule would be free to take the classes I needed to reach my goal. I graduated with my degree and it was as I had hoped as a small boy except instead of being a civil engineer like my father I was an electrical engineer. I have had various jobs since the time I graduated, mostly centered around the cellular industry. Though my goal as a boy was to be an engineer and I enjoy my job, I find that my main passion and joy comes from my family. Whether we go hiking in the mountains or just hang out around the house doing yard work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been Mormon my whole life. My parents were very active in the church and as such I grew up going to church every week, having family prayers early in the morning, and reading scriptures often as a family. My belief in the church did not come from one incident but from an accumulation of these activities throughout my life, even now as I do the same things for my family. This does not mean I did not question these beliefs and try to determine for myself if they were correct. I have experimented upon the words of the scriptures and the teachings of the Church and verified to myself they are true. The first time I recall wanting to know for myself if the teachinges were true was when I was 14. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. As I read the book I enjoyed it and finished it willingly. At the end of the Book of Mormon there is a challenge given by the Prophet Moroni. He states that if you pray with real intent you can know the truth of all things. I did as he asked. I prayed to know if what I was reading was true. My feelings were peaceful and I felt that what I had read was true. As I have gotten older I have repeated this same challenge and each time I have felt that same reassurance. I know we have a Father in Heaven that loves us. I feel that when I read the scriptures and pray. He loves us so much He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. As I have read about His life in the New Testament and Book of Mormon I have learned more about His role in my life and a better way to live.

How I live my faith

Currently, I work helping the scout troop sponsored by our congregation on their committee. I am behind the scenes helping track the boy's progress and making sure everything is in order for camp outs and activities. I enjoying helping the youth. This gives me an opportunity to be with my sons and watch them grow.
