Hi I'm Kevin Hamlet

I grew up in Southern California, live in the Seattle area and I'm a Mormon...

About Me

I'm a husband, father of five children, and a director of human resources for a financial services company in Seattle. I am a huge fan of Star Wars, I love to play with my family, watch movies, play video games, read the scriptures and help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church by my best Friend, Clark at 17. After attending a Church dance, I asked Clark if I could attend church with him the following day. I don't remember much of the meetings that day other than an overwhelming feeling at the end of the services of introducing myself to the Bishop and asking him how I could become a member. He introduced me to some missionaries, and a month later I was baptized. I remember wondering as a teenager due to struggles at home and with the loss of my grandfather my freshman year in high school to HIV from a blood transfusion, why am I here? What is the purpose of life? And where are we going after? All my questions were answered by my friend. I was amazed, how could he be so certain? After meeting with the missionaries, I read the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Christ and prayed to know that it was true. I received an answer through the Holy Ghost. I know the Book of Mormon as the Bible are testaments of Jesus Christ our savior and that we are all God's children. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has changed my life. I have since, served a mission in Argentina, married and have five wonderful children. The Gospel of Jesus Christ can help anyone.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the 2nd counselor in the Orting Ward bishopric. I really love the opportunity that I get to meet so many people and serve them. Visiting and administering to the old and young along with our great Bishop and 1st counselor. I also get to work with the youth 12-18 years of age and the Primary organization (those 18 months to 11 years old). The humility and and youthful view of things is a great inspiration to me. Working with the youth helps me to strive to be a better person, husband and father.
