Hi I'm Lisa Kay

I'm a natural blonde harley driving Californian girl; raised in the sunshine of the Silicone Valley. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew in a home where we lived the gopel the best we could. Following my family life, my career led me through the in's and out's of the computer industry for roughly seven years. I'm now married with two beautiful children and have commited to take on one of the hardest jobs in the world; I am a stay at home mother. I love to write. I'm currently working on a book. I love to cook, bake, garden, and mountain bike. I also like to do anything that includes large power tools; whether it's for a home improvement project or using the pick axe or chain saw in the yard. I bought my first harley when I was nineteen and fell in love with riding.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life where I wasn't sure if the gospel principles were right for me.... so I decided to "experiment upon the word". The scriptures say that if we plant the seed of Christ in our hearts, nourish it with faith, that the word, Christ, will grow in our hearts. It was begin to sprout and become a tree. And if we nourish that tree continually it will grow. When we experiment to know Christ, he will manifest himself into our lives. He will become more and more apprent to us. And we will become very aware of how he works and how intimately he watches over us. I have exerted an experiment upon the word for 14 years now and have found that there is no other way that life works best for me. When founded upon the teachings and principles of Christ, I find that my life is directed; my talents are strenghten by the spirit, allowing me to find satisfaction and purpose on my journey.

How I live my faith

With our family as our main focus in life, we are encouraged in our faith to reach out to those around us. I pray each day that I might have eyes to see, and ears to hear, the needs of those around me. We visit the elderly, take meals, or perform other services, to those we know stand in need. My husband and I are currently serving as ward missionaries in our area. We support the Lord's full time missionaires in their work to teach the gospel. Being invited into homes where the Lord's gospel is unfolded, is a common activity for us. Our joy is full when we see those around us understand the beautiful plan of happiness our Father in Heaven has extended to us. I also serve as a temple group coordinator. A temple is a sacred building. Inside, members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to serve Jesus Christ and their fellow man. These trips that I help coordinate for our area have become so very special to me. Just stepping onto the temple grounds, you can feel a spirit that is the closest to home that I have ever felt. And as you depart, your spirit feels enlarged, and strengthened, ready to meet the challenges of this life.

What is faith?

Lisa Kay
Faith. When we decide to plant the seed of Christ in our heart, nourshing it with belief in things that are not seen, but are true, we begin to experience and engage in faith. Show more Show less
