Hi I'm Manuella

I was born in Cameroon where I lived until the age of 9. Now Germany is my home. I am a Mormon.

About Me

From the time of my birth in Cameroon through the 9 years that I spent there before my mother moved to Germany to live with my stepfather, I had the opportunity to grow up with two cultures. The beginning in Germany was not easy. I had to adapt to and understand my new surroundings. This time is far behind me now and I don't quite remember how it happened, but at some point I could understand the language and speak it and then things got easier for me. My childhood was in Cameroon and my growing up was and is influenced by Germany where I passed my high school exams (Abitur) and where I now live and go to college. Due to the influence that France has upon Cameroon, that land is also a part of me. And after serving voluntarily for my church in England for 18 months, that land and its culture have also grown dear to my heart. I enjoy working with people. I think it is interesting to see the similarities and differences between people and to discover different cultures. I like to be in busy places, to laugh and dance and have fun. But it is also important for me to withdraw, to read or listen to music or just take time to think about myself and the world.

Why I am a Mormon

To become a Mormon was a decision that I made at the age of 15. And I have never regretted it. In the beginning, I was of the opinion that being baptized was the right decision for me. Now, 10 years later, with all my experience, I know that it was the best decision that I could have ever made and that this step has influenced all I have done. The things that my family and I have learned in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has improved the quality of our lives. Life is like an adventure that often includes surprises. The gospel gives me peace and hope to help me enjoy it all.

How I live my faith

My faith influences not only my choices in life, but also my attitude toward life. How I deal with joy and suffering is a part of that. Just because I believe does not mean that my life is free of worry or care. It simply means that the worries and cares do not knock me down as long or as hard, it helps me to grow and to learn. I am a very optimistic person and I try to see the positive in everything. There is a time for everything. A time to be sad and a time to be happy. I take the time to be sad when needs be, but I also use this time to treasure my happiness more and to enjoy it. My faith also helps me treat my fellow men better since we are all brothers and sisters.
